Prof. Dr. Hakan Yanar

Prof. Dr. Hakan Yanar was born in 1971 in Denizli. After completing his primary, secondary and high school education in Denizli, he was admitted to Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center, Denver, Colorado.

He fulfilled his compulsory service in Isparta between 1995–1996 and his military service in Tunceli in April 2000. In 1996 he commenced his residency in General Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, which he completed in June 2001 with a thesis entitled “Scar tissue formation in colon anastomoses and the effect of lathyrogenic drugs.”

Between February 2006 and February 2007 he worked at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Department of General Surgery, Los Angeles, USA. He was appointed Associate Professor in October 2008 and full Professor in March 2014.
