Prof. Dr. Hakan Yanar

👨‍⚕️ Biography

Prof. Dr. Hakan Yanar was born in Denizli in 1971. After completing his primary, secondary and high-school education in Denizli, he entered Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1988. He completed his surgical internship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in Denver, Colorado.

He carried out his compulsory service in Isparta between 1995–1996 and his military service in Tunceli in April 2000. He began his residency in the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and completed it in June 2001 with the thesis "Scar tissue formation in colon anastomoses and the effect of lathyrogenic drugs."

Between February 2006 and February 2007 he worked at the University of Southern California Medical Center, Department of General Surgery, Los Angeles, USA. He received the title of Associate Professor in October 2008 and Professor in March 2014.
